Adidas Loses Latest Round in Patent Suit Against Skeckers

Designer Shoes

Adidas has been handed an unfavorable ruling in the patent infringement lawsuit it filed against Skechers, alleging that its fellow footwear brandwillfully infringed two patents related to adidas' Springblade design – a four-year-old design whose midsole includes blades are meant to help propel runners forward – with its similar "Mega Flex" shoe.

In refusing to grant adidas’ request for a preliminary injunction this week, Judge Michael Simon of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, a federal court in Portland, held that Skechers did not willfully infringe adidas’ patents with its own "Mega Blade" design and that it is not facing harm that gives rise to the need for such a remedy.

According to Judge Simon, "Adidas's evidence of irreparable injury is too conclusory and speculative," and the company "fails to make a persuasive showing that the Mega Blade shoe has had an appreciable adverse effect on the Springblade shoe.”

Additionally, Judge Simon “put the case on hold so the U.S. Patent and Trial Appeals Board ("PTAB")  could consider related issues,” per Reuters. Currently pending before the PTAB are two Inter Partes Review proceedings, in which Skechers is challenging the validity of patent claims of two existing adidas patents for the Springblade design based on existing patents and printed publications.

Adidas Originals by PORTER Capsule Collection

Designer Shoes

IMAGES: DSMS

Think of Porter (Yoshida, not International) and you’ll recall its signature black nylon bags with a pop of orange in the interior. Think of Adidas, and you’ll get… well, pretty much everything under the sun these days, with their NMD sneakers being all the rage of late. Which is why a collaboration between these two giants was inevitable as East meets West.

What can you expect from the collection you may ask? Where bags are concerned, you can expect 2 classics from Porter’s Tanker series that have been jazzed up with Adidas’s signature blue and 3 stripes. There’s the 2-Way Helmut Bag (SGD349), reminiscent of the ones used by air force pilots that’s also a Porter Yoshida signature silhouette.

Then there’s the street favourite 2-Way Waist Bag (SGD259) that comes with the Adidas logo attached next to Porter Yoshida’s standout rectangular logo. What’s more, the traditional orange interior gives way to Adidas’ signature blue, a nod to German sportswear giant that’s synonymous with the colour.

Besides bags, there’s also a pair of shoes, the NMD_C1 (SGD249), which is stamped with the Porter logo on the shoe’s tongue instead of Adidas. Coming in a black mesh upper with blue elements on the tabs around the sole, the shoe is equal parts sleek and chic, and looks great with a pair of rolled-up jeans.

Available at Dover Street Market Singapore’s online store from 10 June 2017, save this page on your bookmark tabs because should you miss out on this you’ll just have to pay way more over at #Carouhell and eBay. And we wouldn’t want that, would we?

Adidas collaborates with Porsche Design for a rather stylish sneaker

Designer Shoes

Collaborations are the buzzing trend in 2017 and here to present us with yet another rocking example of the wonders that artistic amalgamations truly entail is our beloved shoe brand- Adidas that recently teamed up with the super edgy and ultra-fabulous Porsche designs to create a pair of sneakers that is stylish, functional and engineered to every length of perfection.

Titled as the “Adidas X Porsche design Bounce S4 Lux”, the shoe offers a stunning take on fashion which is further coupled beautifully with the engineering aesthetics of Porsche. One glance at the shoe, and you would almost instantly notice its decoupled heel that is attached to the rest of the shoe via a carbon plate, much like the mechanism used in most Porsche cars. Further, it comes with a bounce suspension system that is designed to offer added comfort along with a 3D upper layer for aiding easy support and a superior fit minus the hiccups of any unnecessary pressure. Due to its unique pressure relieving designing, the S4 lux makes an ideal match for walking, running and almost all other sports endeavors.

This one-of-a -kind shoe takes immense inspiration from the Porsche car designs and renders enough style to make the rest of pieces in your shoe collection look boring as hell. Available in Dark blue and classic red options, the Adidas X Porsche design Bounce S4 Lux is available for sale on the Porsche design website for a cool $430 each. Pricey, but pretty much like no other shoe you have ever seen before.
